Position Title: Writer/Developer

Reports To: Project/Contract Manager
ForeSight Communications is seeking an experienced Writer/Developer to provide curriculum development, instructional design, and technical writing support for the U.S. Army Institute for Religious Leadership – Religious Leadership Academy (IRL-RSA) Training Directorate. The Writer/Developer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and revising training content to support Army Chaplains and Religious Affairs Specialists, aligning with TRADOC standards, the Army Learning Model (ALM), and approved instructional design frameworks, such as ADDIE.
Curriculum Development & Instructional Design
- Develop new training materials, lesson plans, and instructional modules for Initial Military Training (IMT), Professional Military Education (PME), and Functional Courses.
- Revise, standardize, and update existing courseware to ensure doctrinal alignment with TRADOC and ALM principles.
- Apply ADDIE methodology to analyze training needs, design instructional solutions, and evaluate effectiveness.
Content Creation & Technical Writing
- Write and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), course documentation, and instructional guides.
- Develop multimedia and visual aids to enhance course delivery.
- Ensure all written content meets Army formatting, compliance, and doctrinal standards.
Platform & Systems Integration
- Create, edit, and manage course content in Training Development Capability (TDC).
- Upload and manage instructional materials in Blackboard LMS for digital delivery.
- Use SharePoint for version control, archiving, and collaborative editing.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance
- Coordinate iterative reviews with IRL-RSA staff and faculty to validate content accuracy and alignment.
- Participate in peer reviews, stakeholder feedback sessions, and corrective action processes.
- Support instructor onboarding and course transitions by developing user guides and training aids.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Track training effectiveness using learner feedback, gradebook data, and performance analytics.
- Prepare After Action Reviews (AARs), evaluation reports, and compliance documentation.
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Communications, or related field.
- Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing and revising Army or DoD instructional materials.
- Demonstrated experience with TRADOC curriculum standards, ADDIE, and ALM principles.
- Familiarity with Army-approved systems: TDC, Blackboard LMS, SharePoint.
- Experience in technical writing, SOP development, and multimedia integration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong writing, editing, and curriculum design skills.
- Ability to synthesize doctrine and technical information into clear, learner-centered content.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Army learning platforms.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with faculty, staff, and Government stakeholders.
- Deliver doctrinally aligned, outcome-based training content on schedule.
- Ensure seamless integration of instructional content into Army-approved systems.
- Maintain compliance with all Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
- Provide redundancy and continuity by cross-training with other Writer/Developers and Operators.
