Part-Time Facilities Maintenance / Custodian

Position Summary

Foreside Development Company is seeking a reliable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance / Custodian to support the day-to-day cleanliness, upkeep, and general maintenance of our commercial buildings and surrounding grounds. This part-time role combines custodial duties with light general maintenance and is ideal for a dependable, self-directed worker who takes pride in keeping a property clean, safe, and well-presented. The position requires someone comfortable working independently, following a recurring task schedule, and responding to routine issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance & Light Repairs

• Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, adjusting doors, and possibly minor plumbing leaks or repairs.
• Assemble, move, and set up chairs/furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs that fall outside the scope of basic upkeep.
• Assist vendors and contractors with site access and basic support during scheduled work.

Grounds & Exterior

• Maintain a clean and orderly building exterior, including sidewalks, entryways, and trash/dumpster areas. This will include power washing when needed.
• Perform seasonal tasks: light landscaping, weeding around buildings.
• Report exterior issues (lighting, landscaping, drainage, etc.) to the supervisor.

General

• Follow an established cleaning and maintenance schedule and checklists.
• Maintain supplies and equipment in good working order. General organizing.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic handyman skills and familiarity with common hand tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a recurring task list.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanor in a commercial tenant environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely with cleaning equipment, ladders, and basic tools.
• Comfortable performing both indoor and outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time position; schedule and weekly hours to be determined based on operational needs. Hourly compensation commensurate with experience. Starting range of $24-26/hr.

Flexible schedule for the right individual. Currently 8-16hrs per week. Good work ethic, general organization, and ability to work independently may lead to a full-time position if desired.
