About the Role
The Environmental Health Specialist II supports public health and safety by conducting field work and environmental assessments. You’ll build technical expertise, maintain client relationships, and contribute to projects that positively impact communities.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct Field Assessments: Perform sample collection at indoor and outdoor client facilities, accurately record observations using inspection forms, and communicate findings effectively to Project Managers.
- Perform Specialized Testing: Carry out a variety of assessments, including hazardous materials surveys (mold, lead, asbestos), noise surveys, exposure monitoring, wildfire smoke assessments, site surveillance, and respirator fit testing.
- Manage Samples: Prepare and deliver collected samples to laboratories following proper protocols.
- Operate Equipment Safely: Ensure correct use of tools and equipment for accurate data collection, including moisture meters, area pumps, anemometers, and other specialized instruments.
- Provide Exceptional Service: Deliver projects on schedule, maintaining professional, friendly communication and adhering to all safety and protective standards.
- Participate in Training: Attend company-required trainings and courses to maintain certifications, technical skills, and safety compliance.
What You Bring
- Active DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification.
- 2 years of experience conducting asbestos surveys and providing abatement oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate data entry and client interaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel to local client sites; occasional travel outside the local area may be required.
- Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work nights or weekends based on project needs.

Qualifications
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Physical ability to stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, walk, and stand for extended periods in varied work environments to perform sampling activities.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for documentation and reporting.
- Must be able to pass a background check, annual physicals, and OSHA-required respirator fit tests.
