Job Title: Maintenance Technician or Electro-Mechanical Technician
Foremost Farms is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians and Electro-Mechanical Technicians to support the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production equipment and facility systems. These roles play a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, high-quality operations.
Candidates may be considered for a Maintenance Technician I, II, or III or Electro-Mechanical Technician role based on experience and technical expertise.
Position Overview: Maintenance Technician
Key Responsibilities:
Focuses on broad mechanical maintenance and facility support across multiple systems
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, power transmission systems, and industrial equipment
Install, align, dismantle, and relocate machinery and equipment
Perform welding, fabrication, and basic carpentry to support operations
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Utilize CMMS to document work and manage parts inventory
Position Overview: Electro-Mechanical Technician
Key Responsibilities:
Focuses on advanced electrical systems, controls, and automation
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLCs, motors, drives, and control panels
Install and maintain AC/DC motors, VFDs, and motion control equipment
Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
Perform electrical installations and major system repairs
Support automation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with engineering and production on complex system issues
Shared Responsibilities (Both Roles):
Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance
Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash standards
Maintain accurate records in CMMS and complete work orders
Support inventory control and parts ordering
Communicate equipment status and maintenance updates
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Support and mentor team members as needed
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical degree or certification preferred
Strong mechanical background including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical troubleshooting, and welding/fabrication.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tools
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Additional for Electro-Mechanical Technicians:
Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or related technical field required.
Strong experience with electrical systems, PLCs, and automation
Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, VFDs, and instrumentation
Work Environment & Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, work in confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
Exposure to noise, temperature changes, and moving equipment
Availability for overtime, weekends, and on-call support as needed
