Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on chiller equipment (centrifugal, screw, scroll, absorption, etc.).Inspect and service compressors, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and associated piping.Check and adjust refrigerant levels, pressures, superheat/subcooling, and system performance.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues using gauges, multimeters, analyzers, and BAS interfaces.System Installation & CommissioningInstall new chiller units and related mechanical/HVAC components.Set up chilled-water loops, pumps, cooling towers, and control wiring.Perform startup, testing, and commissioning according to manufacturer specifications.TroubleshootingIdentify and resolve faults in refrigeration circuits, electrical circuits, VFDs, sensors, and PLC/BAS control systems.Analyze performance issues and recommend efficiency improvements.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.Ensure compliance with safety standards, refrigerant handling regulations (EPA 608), and company procedures.Follow lockout/tagout and safe-handling protocols for high-pressure and high-voltage systems.Customer InteractionCommunicate diagnostics, required repairs, and preventive maintenance recommendations to clients or supervisors.Provide technical support and guidance to facility staff or junior technicians.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or technical school certificate in HVAC/R or related field.2–5 years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC/chiller systems.Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, chilled-water systems, and HVAC controls.Ability to read schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Proficiency with diagnostic tools (gauges, meters, refrigerant analyzers, control software).
