Essential Functions
- Teach 1-2 courses per term.
- Deliver instruction through a hybrid model (asynchronous or synchronous online with in-person meetings each term).
- Engage students in active learning, facilitate discussions, and encourage real-world application of course content.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects; provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain regular virtual office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with program leadership and instructional designers to ensure high-quality course delivery.
- Stay current with trends in health informatics and integrate relevant industry examples into instruction.
- Uphold academic integrity and foster a supportive learning environment.
- Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Health Information Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an international equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a healthcare or health IT setting.
- Prior teaching experience at the graduate or professional level (preferably in a hybrid or online format).
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (Blackboard) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom) will be helpful.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
