A Facility in the Bronx is actively seeking a Director of Nursing (DNS) to join our dynamic team of professionals.
Major job responsibilities for a Director of Nursing include but are not limited to, the following:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Nursing Services Department, Staff Educator/Infection Control
- Supervise the nursing staff and inform them of new policies and procedures
- Recruitment, retention, and training of nurses
- Ensure that the legal procedures, nursing practices, and work standards are met as per facility policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the healthcare facility management team in leading the clinical team
- Manage resident data and medical records.
- Participates in the administration of the health care facility as a full member of the executive team.
- Participates in the strategic and long range planning of the health care facility.
- Ensures the ongoing evaluation and innovation of services provided by organized nursing services and the organization, and promotes continuous quality improvement.
Requirements of a Director of Nursing:
- Current New York State Registerered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to plan organize and implement policies and procedures
- Must have minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a nursing supervisor level in a health care facility- hospital or nursing facility
- Must be able to assist in emergency situations
