Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs.
- Use estimating software to prepare detailed repair estimates, including parts, labor, and additional services.
- Recommend additional services or repairs through effective upselling techniques to enhance vehicle safety and performance.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, schedule appointments, and communicate repair progress to customers.
- Explain technical diagnoses in clear, understandable language while managing customer expectations.
- Process transactions efficiently, including cash handling and payment processing for services rendered.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including work orders, estimates, and client communications.
Skills
- Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Knowledge of dealership operations, auto sales processes, and collision repair procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge covering vehicle maintenance, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair.
- Ability to upsell effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Experience with auto estimating systems and service writing practices.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving is an essential part of the role.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and documentation processes.
