We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. You will work on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate at peak performance and comply with safety and environmental regulations. This position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on diesel engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
- Inspect and test diesel vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Replace or repair faulty components, including fuel injectors, filters, turbochargers, and other related parts.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service recommendations and repairs.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
- Collaborate with other technicians and staff to resolve complex mechanical issues and improve service efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Ford experience as a diesel service technician or related field.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects as needed.
