Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and X-ray assistance when required.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting patient information accurately, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
• Support medical documentation efforts by coding diagnoses with ICD codes, maintaining detailed medical records, and ensuring proper record management.
• Conduct basic physiology assessments and assist with procedures related to dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine cases.
• Coordinate with the medical team to schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and manage patient flow efficiently within outpatient or inpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a medical office environment with familiarity in medical office management and administrative support functions.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
• Prior experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine (including Level I or Level II trauma centers), or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and vital signs measurement accurately.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics or hospital settings with inpatient experience preferred.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
