What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor position at FORD COMPONENT SALES?
Ford Component Sales, LLC (FCS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company aligned with the Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD). We are a flexible sales organization that directs resources toward revenue opportunities identified by FCSD.
We are in search of a MP&L Supervisor that is responsible for managing and directing daily operations. Perform long-term planning and reporting for material planning and logistics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manages and directs the activities of direct report personnel including, but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Analyze inbound 830/862 customer releases
- Ensure outbound 830/862 supplier releases are accurately generated
- Assist in the EDI setup and troubleshooting for customer and supplier releases
- Manually adjust releases as required
- Process CMMS3 mailbox messages
- Be the single point of contact for customers and suppliers
- Transform ASNs into receipts from suppliers
- Generate ASNs to customers by creating and finalizing shippers
- Ensure customer material requirements are met
- Expedite shipments as required
- Maintain record accuracy
- Finalize shippers for return of rejected material
- Ensure bills of material are accurate and updated
- Coordinate timing of engineering changes with customers and suppliers
- Access purchasing systems to ensure correct sourcing has been established
- Process Authority to Purchase messages in CMMS3 communicated to Ford Production Purchasing
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems issues
- Develops, manages, and monitors departmental budget
- Other tasks as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum combined 5 years of experience in Material Planning and Logistics and/or Supply Chain activity. Knowledge of Common Materials Management System ver. 3 (CMMS3), SAP and other Records and Release modules.
