Compensation: This position offers a base rate plus opportunities to earn commissions on collected sales. Description:
As a Service Field Engineer, you will work in the field diagnosing and repairing commercial AV systems, applying your hands-on experience with AV, low-voltage, or electronics service work to ensure systems operate at peak performance.
- Respond to service tickets and client requests to diagnose, repair, or reprogram AV systems
- Travel to client sites daily to provide hands-on support, primarily local
- Troubleshoot systems using diagnostic tools, signal tracing, and control system interfaces
- Collaborate with the Customer Care Dispatch team to prioritize and complete work orders
- Complete accurate documentation for service tickets, client communication, and parts used
Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve AV, low-voltage, or control system issues
- Excellent communication skills to explain issues and resolutions to clients
- Ability to climb ladders, carry equipment, and travel between job sites with flexibility
- Familiarity with signal flow, diagnostic tools, and basic AV wiring practices, preferred
- Experience with service tickets and job tracking tools (e.g., CRM or field service platforms), preferred
- Programming experience with Crestron, Q-SYS, or Extron systems, preferred
- Prior experience installing or servicing commercial AV, low-voltage, or electronic control systems, preferred
- Certifications such as CTS or manufacturer trainings, preferred
- Experience with Biamp, QSC, Cisco, or similar AV hardware, preferred
- Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field, preferred

Physical Requirements:
The combination of physical and mental requirements is necessary for completing the responsibilities, essential functions, and meeting the demands of the role. The employee must have the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, climb ladders up to 20 feet tall, and work in extreme weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. They may also be required to work in dusty or unclean environments, confined spaces, and on uneven surfaces. Safety is paramount, necessitating effective communication with colleagues and constant alertness to surroundings. The employee will be frequently required to stand, walk, reach, climb, and perform tasks that involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Additionally, the job may require long hours, night shifts, weekend work, and holiday commitments, including extensive travel for weeks at a time. The employee must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner to meet deadlines and effectively communicate to successfully preform all required responsibilities.
DOT Certification:
DOT Physical Exam for certification which is required for the operation of large trucks. DOT physical, related requirements and ability to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one year duration.
