Position Summary

The Director of Mobile Engineering is responsible for day-to-day technology efforts for our mobile product platform. You’ll combine “hands on” technical expertise, along with organizational leadership, to deliver a compelling mobile solution to market.  This leadership includes partnering with product management, guiding mobile engineering best practices and developing a high-performing team.

Over time, this leader will deliver a mobile platform experience that will be highly rated by its users and valued by our customers.  It will create an ability for our customers’ field force to access valuable information and better integrate & collaborate with centralized teams.  The solution will be intuitive and modern meeting the expectations of increasingly tech savvy professionals.

Job Duties

• Lead, mentor, and scale mobile engineers, and cross domain scrum team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Partner with product manager for mobile to develop roadmap and manage a healthy production product
• Provide hands-on technical guidance in React Native, architecture design, and mobile app performance optimization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend engineering to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Establish engineering processes, standards, and tools that ensure quality, scalability, and speed.
• Oversee the full mobile app lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Partner with senior leadership to align mobile initiatives with company goals and growth strategy.
• All other job related duties as assigned.

 Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3 years managing mobile teams.
• Strong expertise in React Native and cross-platform mobile development (iOS Android).
• Proven track record of leading and scaling mobile engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in Agile based development practices. Comfortable providing leadership to an Agile team.
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, testing approaches and deployment practices.
• Experience working with partners and offshore.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in SaaS or high-growth software businesses.
• Background in native iOS/Android development.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes for mobile apps.
• Prior experience in scaling engineering organizations
