Overview:  Must be able to assemble, disassemble and repair specific product lines. To perform the job properly, the Assembly Technician I must have basic product knowledge, an understanding of production procedures, and ability to use common hand and power tools. The position requires self-direction, focus, and a strong desire to work within a team environment.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assemble fundamental components in accordance to the work instructions utilizing a combination of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Assemble entry-level products to meet established standards for quality, quantity, efficiency, and customer specifications consistently and correctly.
  • Communicate with appropriate parties in relation to expedited orders, component quality issues, inventory records, etc.
  • Participate in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Participate in maintaining and suggesting safety practices and procedures.
  • Maintain an orderly work environment.
  • Maintain system accuracy and record transactions in ERP operating system.
  • Participate as a team member to achieve goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associates Degree in Fluid Power, Mechatronics, or related field strongly preferred. Certified Fluid Power Specialist, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience, preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Strong sense of urgency and basic ability to prioritize in order to meet the expectations of the customer.
  • Detail oriented to provide the highest level of quality.

  • The majority of the time will be inside conditions with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some work is achieved near open bays with no control over weather conditions.
  • Distribution and Valve: There are periodic high noise levels and vibration associated with this job. Sources include: engine noise, air compressors, air powered equipment, and other shop noises. Hearing protection should be used in these environments.  
  • There are potential of physical hazards in which there is danger to life, health, or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, heavy parts, electrical shock, compressed air and exposure to chemicals.
  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of those commonly associated with this type of work.
    • Air power tools, electric drill, drill press, crimping machines, grinders (both hand and bench), wrenches, heat guns, lathe, torches, welders, a variety of hand tools, mills, and electric cords. Valve: CNC

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and up to 25 lbs. of force on a regular basis through the day, depending on work related circumstances.
  • Must be able to be attentive to job at hand to complete tasks consistently correctly.
  • Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level. Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another level.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Standing or Sitting for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Reaching – extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned above.
  • Handling - seizing, holding, grasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.
  • Pulling – using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.
  • Manual dexterity – picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily.
  • Feeling – being able to determine objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by means of receptors in skin, particularly those of finger tips.
