Food Runner and Busser (Tipped Position)

Overview
Foragers Canteen is expanding our scope and stepping into the Pizza industry. We will be introducing Foragers Pizza Company in Dillsboro, North Carolina in early April. We are now searching for some smiling faces to join our team. We are currently accepting applications for the Food Runner and Busser positions. In this role, you will be the vital link between the kitchen and the dining experience, ensuring that food is delivered promptly and tables are kept clean and inviting. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will elevate our guests’ experience, creating a lively atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed and cared for. Responsibilities

• Deliver freshly prepared food from the kitchen to guests efficiently, maintaining quality and presentation standards
• Clear and reset tables swiftly to prepare for new guests, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times
• Assist with bussing duties by removing used dishes, glassware, and silverware, keeping the dining area tidy and inviting
• Maintain cleanliness in food service areas, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate service flow and guest needs
• Uphold health and safety standards through regular cleaning, proper food handling, and adherence to sanitation protocols

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, catering, or hospitality is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
• Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout shifts
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, bussing techniques, and basic food handling practices
• Experience working in fast-paced environments such as restaurants or hotels is a plus
• A proactive attitude with excellent customer service skills to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Compensation

This position will be paid at an hourly rate with further compensation coming in the form of a tip pool percentage based on hours worked during each pay period.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
