Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Dog Bather to join our vibrant team. In this dual role, you will be the welcoming face of our salon, managing client interactions and appointments while also assisting with pet bathing and handling. Your enthusiasm for animals and excellent customer service skills will help create a positive experience for every pet and owner who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with efficiency and professionalism
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered
- Call customers to schedule appointments, confirm next-day appointments, and get approval for additional services as needed
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby, to include cleaning up after pets when accidents occur
- Cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist with pet bathing, grooming prep, and basic animal handling to ensure pets are comfortable and well-cared for
- Handle animal restraint safely during grooming procedures, ensuring both pet and staff safety
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming areas, kennels, and reception space to uphold hygiene standards
- Support pet care activities such as pet sitting or light animal handling as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to supplies or equipment to support daily operations.
- The front desk is REQUIRED to work 7:30 am to 6:30 pm 3 days per week and 8:30 start EVERY Saturday. The bathing room is REQUIRED to work 7:45 am to 6 pm 2 days per week and 8:45 start EVERY Saturday.
Qualifications
- Passionate about animals with experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or animal care preferred
- Prior veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus, especially involving animal restraint or veterinary procedures
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle animals gently yet confidently
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is beneficial
- Reliable, energetic, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
