What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Assistant position at FOR EACH 1 REACH 1 MENTORING PROGRAM INC & REACH ACADEMY?
The Classroom Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for students enrolled in the private school, homeschool co-op, and hybrid education programs. The Classroom Assistant works closely with students individually and in small groups, assists with classroom organization, supervises students, and helps ensure the daily operation of the classroom runs smoothly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or coursework in education is preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, homeschool, or youth program is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Successful Florida Level 2 Background Screening required before employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children.
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse learning abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to multitask.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed.
- Basic computer skills, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to assist students with classroom activities and outdoor supervision.
