POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the transportation of inbound goods. This role works closely with third-party carriers and internal customer service and warehouse staff to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery. The role requires a deep understanding of supply chain processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with carriers to schedule deliveries, ensuring shipments align with customer expectations and contractual agreements.
- Track shipments, manage load planning, and ensure materials are delivered on time, to the right place, and in the correct quantities.
- Review and process shipping documents, and ensure all records, including invoices and customs documents are accurate.
- Address and resolve issues like delays, damages, or shortages by communicating with factories, carriers, and internal departments to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.
- Move shipments through the WMS system from the booking stage to the in-transit stage.
- Monitor shipments in real-time and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Review for accuracy and voucher factory, freight and customs invoices.
- Run reports to ensure documents are sent timely by factories and carriers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain roles is preferred, along with a solid understanding of supply chain processes and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or communications, or related fields preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Familiarity with WMS systems such as Blue Cherry, Oracle or SAP is preferred.
- Strong experience working with a team and professional and effective communication
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, and bending, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing or calculator use.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The majority of this job will be spent indoors in a climate-controlled environment
