About This Role
We are seeking a caring and dependable 4K First Steps Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role assists with daily classroom activities while following South Carolina First Steps and DSS guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Support the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and activities
- Assist with supervising children and maintaining required ratios
- Help prepare materials and support lesson plans
- Promote positive behavior and social skills
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Assist with documentation and daily communication as needed
- Follow all DSS licensing, health, safety, and First Steps requirements
Requirements
- Completion of ECD 101 (Introduction to Early Childhood Education)
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Willingness to complete required training and professional development
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
- Reliable, patient, and able to work as part of a team
