Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a team environment, and can step in as needed to fill gaps in staffing. The support staff/floater supports the teachers and director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. ***This would be a part time position of 2-6pm in our infants/toddler classrooms. This is great for newly high school graduates and/or people seeking to return to the workforce in a more limited capacity.
Duties
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of learning activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain personal professional development by staying up to date on state mandated hours/trainings.
- Ability to utilize classroom management skills
- Following closing procedures as listed in classrooms with opening/closing classrooms.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a professional setting (preferred but not required).
- Ability to maintain a positive and nurturing environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, with the availability to fill in on short notice.
