Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in a nursing home. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities that promote social interaction and physical well-being.
Duties:
- Assist in planning special events and celebrations that foster community spirit among residents.
- Provide support during activities, ensuring all participants are included and encouraged.
- Document participation and feedback from residents to continually improve programming.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with residents and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, and caregivers.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on the needs and preferences of residents.
