Duties
- Prepare hygiene bay areas by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic technique standards.
- Assist dentists pediatric dentistry, ensuring chairside assisting is efficient and comfortable for patients.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize medical imaging technology such to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient care by taking vital signs, updating medical documentation, and ensuring all clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed.
- Operate patient management software such as DOX , update records, and facilitate seamless communication within the practice.
- Support the dental reception process by greeting patients, verifying details, and assisting with coding for billing purposes.
- Maintain dental sterilization procedures, ensure proper handling of dental instruments, and uphold infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Competence in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or patient care coordinator is desirable for managing patient interactions effectively.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in oral surgery or endodontics are a plus.
