Position Summary
Foothills Facilities Maintenance is seeking dependable, certified lifeguards to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 pool season at the Homestead Community Pool in Aurora. We are looking for candidates who are available to work through September 7, 2026, and who are committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for residents and guests.
Lifeguards are responsible for actively monitoring the pool, enforcing facility rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a professional presence throughout each shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Current American Lifeguard Association (ALA), American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, or other nationally recognized lifeguard certification valid through September 7, 2026.
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre employment swim and skills evaluation.
- Reliable transportation and availability through September 7, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool and surrounding deck.
- Enforce pool rules professionally and consistently.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Administer first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Follow all Emergency Action Plan (EAP) procedures.
- Complete opening and closing duties.
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck, guard stations, and equipment.
- Participate in required in service trainings and emergency drills.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Guard and management team.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Schedule
The remainder of the season runs through September 7, 2026.
Current shifts are scheduled between 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., typically in 4 to 4.5 hour blocks.
Beginning August 10, we transition to our end of season schedule. Guards will work 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. If school schedules require weekday shifts to begin at 5:00 p.m., we are happy to accommodate that when possible.
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Compensation
$16.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and assigned responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to enter the water quickly and perform emergency rescues.
- Ability to lift or assist patrons during emergency situations.
