Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Yuma, AZ. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, meeting with prospective borrowers, and guiding them through the loan application and approval process. Daily activities include assessing borrower needs, collecting and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring loans comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Mortgage Loan Officer will build and maintain relationships with customers, real estate professionals, and internal partners to generate leads and support the bank’s growth. This role also involves providing clear, timely communication, delivering high-quality customer service, and supporting borrowers from initial inquiry through closing.
Qualifications
- Experience in Loan Officer roles, with a strong track record in residential mortgage origination.
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including current regulations and products.
- Familiarity with Underwriting processes and documentation requirements, with the ability to prepare complete and accurate files.
- Strong Customer Service skills, including active listening, empathy, and clear communication with diverse customer populations.
- Relevant licensing as required for mortgage loan originators in Arizona (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Ability to build relationships with real estate agents, builders, and community partners to generate business.
- Comfort with financial analysis, credit review, and use of loan origination systems and standard office software.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in community banking or local financial institutions is beneficial.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
