Foothill Auto Repair & Tire is a locally owned, full-service automotive repair shop serving Browns Valley and the surrounding area. We're looking for a skilled Automotive Repair Technician to join our growing team.
In this role, you'll work on a wide range of vehicles and systems, performing diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance. This is a hands-on position ideal for a technician who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to be part of a supportive, community-focused shop.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a variety of automotive systems including engine, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, and electrical
- Perform general maintenance services such as oil changes, inspections, and fluid services
- Use diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge to identify vehicle concerns accurately
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with service advisors and management
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and parts usage records
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow shop safety procedures and best practices
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in automotive repair or service environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift and handle automotive components safely
- Valid California driver's license
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and professional work ethic
- Strong diagnostic skills
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
- Smog Repair Technician License
- Experience with gas and diesel vehicles
- Previous shop or dealership experience
