We are known for high energy, high output, and a culture built around teamwork and execution.We are looking for driven, positive, motivated people who want to break into the federal and intelligence industry and build a career in business development.Position SummaryThe Business Development Representative (BDR) is an outbound, activity-based role focused on generating meetings, uncovering new opportunities, and helping our team expand across government and defense customers.This role is ideal for recent college graduates or early-career professionals who enjoy talking to people, learning new industries, and working in a fast-paced environment. This role is on-site due to the nature of our work and out of respect for our engineering teams who support sensitive government programs, they work on site and we believe our business development team should too. You can sit in Boston, MA (seaport) or Reston, VA. We do offer some remote flexibility around major holidays.Key ResponsibilitiesMake outbound calls per day to program managers, contracting leads, integrator contacts, and other federal stakeholders.Send targeted outreach emails and follow-ups to schedule meetings for the senior sales team.Hold confident conversations to learn about customer needs, upcoming work, and hiring gaps.Capture accurate notes, details, and activity updates in our CRM.Maintain a clean and organized personal pipeline to stay on top of follow-ups and warm leads.Learn the basics of the DoD and Intelligence Community landscape (we will train you).Work closely with our recruiting and sales teams to support active opportunities.Participate in daily standups, weekly planning sessions, and account reviews.What Success Looks LikeConsistent weekly meetings booked with federal customers and integrators.High-quality call activity and strong communication skills.A growing understanding of how federal programs and contractors operate.Strong collaboration with internal teams and steady pipeline momentum.Required Skills & AttributesStrong communication skills and a positive, professional presence on the phone.Comfortable making high volumes of calls every day.Fast learner who enjoys picking up new concepts, terminology, and customer environments.Decent typing skills and comfort navigating basic computer systems and CRMs.Organized, reliable, and able to keep track of multiple conversations at once.Friendly, motivated, and excited about the mission-driven work done in the defense and intelligence community.Preferred Experience (Not Required)Previous customer service, sales, call-center, or recruiting experience.Interest in defense, intelligence, cybersecurity, or public sector work.Experience in high-activity or competitive environments.Why Footbridge Federal?Clear career path and upward mobility with tangible examples.
