Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli products such as sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts with precision and creativity
- Cook and grill a variety of foods including meats, vegetables, and seafood to meet quality standards
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, slicers, fryers, and food prep stations
- Maintain cleanliness by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures and ensuring all work areas are hygienic
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new items or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Manage high-volume food production during peak hours while maintaining quality control and speed
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles within deli, restaurant, or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in operating kitchen equipment such as grills, slicers, poaching devices, braising pots, and other culinary tools
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to handle various cuts confidently and safely
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation for large-scale or high-volume production
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and presentation
