FOODMatch is looking for an energetic, relationship-driven person to join our Specialty Retail Sales team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in specialty food: retail, deli, bakery, or a related part of the industry, who wants to build a career in sales.
You don't need to be an experienced salesperson. We'll teach you the sales side of the business.
What matters most is that you enjoy connecting with customers, enjoy discovering and talking about great products, and are genuinely passionate about Specialty Food.
What You’ll Do
- Build relationships with specialty food retailers, distributors, brokers, and customers
- Introduce and pitch customers FOODMatch products
- Support existing accounts and identify new business opportunities
- Spend time in the field visiting customers and working alongside our distribution partners
- Learn how to sell, present products, develop accounts, and manage a territory
- Participate in product trainings, customer meetings, food shows, and industry events
- Develop strong knowledge of the FOODMatch portfolio
- Work closely with an experienced sales team that will help you develop your commercial skills
Who We’re Looking For
We’re more interested in your food background, passion, and potential than in years of sales experience.
- Have experience in the food industry, ideally within specialty food, retail, deli, bakery, or a related environment
- Are genuinely passionate about specialty food
- Can naturally connect with customers and food professionals
- Enjoy learning about products and their application and sharing that knowledge with others
- Are outgoing, curious, self-motivated, and comfortable building relationships
- Want to learn sales and develop a long-term career in the field
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Are comfortable spending significant time in the field and working independently
- Have outside sales experience, a plus, but not required
Territory & Travel
This is a field-based position based in Dallas, covering New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mexico, and requires significant travel (80% ) throughout the territory, including international travel.
Being comfortable visiting existing and new customers, distributors, retailers, and industry events is an important part of the role.
