Position Summary
Foodlink is seeking a dynamic, people-centered Manager of Talent, Learning and Experience to help create an exceptional workplace where employees feel welcomed, supported, connected, and equipped to do their best work.
The primary focus of this role is to strengthen the employee’s experience through thoughtful onboarding, meaningful learning and development opportunities, employee engagement initiatives, and practical support that help employees succeed and grow. This position will ensure employees have access to the training, tools, resources, relationships, and guidance they need throughout their employment journey.
Working closely with leaders and teams across the organization, the Manager of Talent, Learning and Experience will identify organizational learning needs, coordinate development opportunities, enhance employee engagement and retention, and help foster a culture of belonging, continuous improvement, and mission-centered service.
Key Responsibilities
Talent, Onboarding & Organizational Learning
Talent Acquisition Support
· Support recruitment efforts to attract diverse, mission-aligned candidates.
· Partner with hiring managers to coordinate candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, references, and selection processes.
· Maintain accurate job descriptions and support recruitment-related communications and postings.
· Represent Foodlink at job fairs, workforce development events, and community recruitment initiatives.
· Support a seamless transition from candidate to employee through close coordination between recruitment and onboarding activities.
Hiring, Onboarding & New Employee Experience
· Lead the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of Foodlink's comprehensive hiring and onboarding program.
· Ensure every new employee experiences a welcoming, organized, and mission-centered introduction to Foodlink.
· Develop onboarding resources, tools, schedules, and learning pathways that support successful integration into the organization.
· Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding activities.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for employees throughout the onboarding process.
· Conduct and coordinate early check-ins to support engagement, development, and retention.
· Train, support, and partner with managers to ensure onboarding is consistent, supportive, and equitable across departments.
· Gather and analyze onboarding feedback to improve the employee experience and increase early retention.
· Approach onboarding with a hospitality mindset so each employee feels valued, informed, supported, and connected from day one.
· Maintain onboarding documentation, records, checklists, and compliance requirements.
Learning & Development
Organizational Learning, Growth & Support
· Design, coordinate, and facilitate learning opportunities that support employee effectiveness, skill development, compliance, mission knowledge, and professional growth.
· Develop and maintain an annual organizational learning calendar.
· Coordinate onboarding curriculum, employee training programs, and organization-wide learning initiatives.
· Create and maintain learning resources, tools, checklists, guides, and reference materials that support employee success.
· Promote a culture of continuous learning, curiosity, growth, and improvement throughout the organization.
· Research and recommend learning opportunities, resources, and training solutions that support employee growth and organizational needs.
· Establish and maintain relationships with external training providers, educational partners, professional associations, and workforce development organizations.
· Help employees identify and access professional development opportunities that align with their roles and career interests.
· Evaluate training effectiveness using participation data, employee feedback, and other relevant indicators.
· Support the development and management of the annual training and professional development budget.
· Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
Employee Engagement & Retention
· Lead and support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, belonging, connection, and retention.
· Coordinate stay interviews, exit interviews, onboarding feedback, and employee experience surveys.
· Track employee feedback and engagement trends and recommend practical improvements.
· Support employee recognition, appreciation, wellness, and culture-building programs.
· Partner with managers to strengthen employee communication, support, and team effectiveness.
· Support initiatives that reinforce Foodlink's mission, values, and employee connection.
· Serve as a champion for positive, meaningful employee experiences across all stages of employment.
General Human Resources Support
· Support Human Resources projects, initiatives, and priorities as assigned.
· Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, employee learning opportunities, and HR meetings.
· Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, confidentiality, and a customer-service mindset.
· Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with organizational practices and legal requirements.
· Assist with HR reporting, data tracking, and workforce analytics related to employee experience, onboarding, learning, and retention.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, employee experience, onboarding, learning and development, employee engagement, organizational support, or a related field.
· Experience designing, coordinating, or delivering employee training, onboarding, or professional development programs preferred.
· Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention initiatives preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Passion for creating outstanding employee experiences and supporting employee growth and success.
· Understanding of adult learning principles, training coordination, employee engagement, and talent development practices.
· Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
· Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
· Ability to build trust and strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and recommend practical solutions.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
· Strong customer-service mindset and commitment to supporting employees.
· Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR systems and workplace technology tools.
