Accounts Payable Clerk (#99, Honolulu)

We are currently seeking a responsible, organized and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting department as Accounts Payable Clerk.

This is a full-time, hourly position with excellent benefits (waiting period may apply) and the individual will be based at our corporate office in Kaimuki, Oahu.

Essential Functions:

• Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Utilize accounting software to input and track financial data.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Communicate with AP Supervisor to identify problems and solutions.
• Works with internal and external customers professionally and promptly.
• Meets department deadlines according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Researches and provides support documents for audit and payment discrepancies.
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
• Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
• Follow established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of data provided.

Educations and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive professional experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting.
• High school graduate.

Required skills and abilities:

• Proven accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable.
• Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Data entry and word processing skills.
• Must have strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Must have ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work with a high sense of urgency.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to handle confidential/sensitive information with the utmost professionalism.
• Must be able to live by and embrace our core objectives of providing accurate work product.
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements including dress code.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to sit.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds.

Communication Requirements:

The position requires talking to employees, supervisors, managers, executives, and outside trade persons/vendors; written communication to employees, supervisors, managers, executives, and outside persons/vendors; responding to written or verbal requests; reading; composing written language; receiving verbal and written instructions.
