What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafeteria Worker - Smiley position at Food Services-Smiley?
Job Purpose:
The Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D. is seeking a full-time cafeteria cook at our Smiley campus that serves our elementary school students. The right candidate will prepare and serve meals that meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions.
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures.
Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

Included in the electronic application:
- A notice to comply with the requirement for a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.
- An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD. A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009.
