Primary Purpose:
Assist with daily operation of Food Service office and provide clerical services to Director of Food Service.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient typing, keyboarding, filing and file maintenance skills
Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Bilingual Preferred
Experience:
Three years experience as an administrative assitant, preferably in Child Nutrition Programs
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
- Prepare monthly school menu and meal analysis, forms, and reports for food service office.
2. Receive and process weekly ration orders for each campus.
3. Knowledgeable in the areas of Eligibility for each qualifying household.
4. Process and verify Free and Reduced Meal applications.
5. Prepare daily deposit for each campus cafeteria.
6. Maintain current files for all food service employees
7. Work closely with the Technology and Information Service department in a
troubleshooting capacity in regards to the POS system in each cafeteria
Phones
- Answer incoming calls, take messages, and handle questions and requests that fall within level of responsibility.
Accounting
- Assist with preparation of purchase orders and payment authorizations.
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including simple arithmetic operations to maintain department budget records.
Data Entry
- Input all supply and equipment purchase information in computer.
- Input staff information in computer.
Other
- Order office supplies for department.
- Welcome all visitors and handle their requests or refer them to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain effective rapport with general public and handle any problems or concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
Support the Instructional and Educational Process
- Work cooperatively with the administration and teachers while performing your duties to ensure that students will experience educational success. Be cognizant of the fact that we are here to perform our duties in an effort to support the educational process of each and every student who is enrolled at AISD.
