What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Laboratory Technician position at Food Microbiological Laboratories, Inc.?
Work 3-4 evenings per week, including weekends, part-time (24-28 hours a week), as an assistant laboratory technician for a food testing laboratory in Cypress, CA. Ideal candidates would have a basic understanding of aseptic technique and good laboratory practices. Responsibilities include basic laboratory functions such as laboratory dishware cleaning, sample homogenization/preparation, media production and proper documentation. All duties must be performed in accordance with the prescribed methodology and follow established standard operating procedures. Assistant laboratory technicians will also be expected to operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, perform routine housekeeping functions and laboratory closing duties.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable attendance
- Reliable transportation
- Courses in microbiology, biological science, food science, or chemistry recommended
- Commercial lab experience is a plus
- Clean background check—no criminal convictions
- Must be willing to work hard and get the job done
- Must pay attention to detail and take pride in work completed
Available shifts:
- 6:00pm to 11:00pm weekdays, or until excusal
- 4:00pm to 12:30am weekdays, or until excusal
- 1:00pm to 9:30pm weekends, or until excusal
Rate:
- $17-$20 /hour
