Are you a seasoned substation engineer ready to lead high-voltage projects that power communities and industries? Join a team where your expertise directly shapes critical infrastructure, from concept through construction. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and work on innovative designs across 13kV–765kV substations.
What You’ll Do:

Take ownership of substation projects from conceptual design to energized facilities, shaping every stage of development.

Lead the creation of complete substation design packages, including layouts, protective relaying, control systems, grounding, lightning analysis, lighting, and security.

Perform advanced calculations and system designs: insulation, AC station service, DC systems, battery sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, and conduit fill.

Develop design sketches, cost estimates, equipment specifications, bills of materials, and other key project deliverables.

Apply and influence best practices, adhering to IEEE, NESC, and industry standards while improving internal processes and design approaches.

Conduct field inspections and provide technical leadership on public and private utility projects.

Identify challenges, propose solutions, and drive projects to successful completion.

Mentor junior engineers and guide project teams to ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards.

Build lasting client relationships and represent the firm on proposals, budgets, and schedules.
What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited program, plus 7 years of substation or related project experience (consulting experience preferred); or

Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology with FE completion and 7 years of experience.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Proven leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
