We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing client in the industrial refrigeration and mechanical systems space that is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Project Manager for its Fort Wayne team. This role is open due to growth and offers the opportunity to lead projects from planning through completion while balancing safety, schedule, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead industrial refrigeration and mechanical projects from kickoff through completion
- Build project plans, manage timelines, and coordinate labor, materials, vendors, and subcontractors
- Track job costs, monitor margins, and support strong project profitability
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with OSHA standards and customer-specific safety requirements
- Partner with customers to understand needs, develop solutions, and support future business opportunities
- Prepare estimates, budgets, and quotes for equipment, materials, labor, and subcontracted work
- Present solutions clearly and help move opportunities toward awarded work
- Mentor less experienced team members and support continuous improvement in project execution and estimating practices
What You’ll Bring
- Background in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field
- Strong experience managing industrial HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, or construction-related projects
- Knowledge of project planning tools and methods such as Gantt charts and CPM
- Ability to manage project costs, profitability, and scheduling without losing focus on customer service
- Understanding of industrial refrigeration or mechanical system components; ammonia experience is a plus
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and safe work practices in industrial settings
- Ability to support estimating, quoting, and business development efforts
- PMP is a plus
- Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Bluebeam, or Raken is helpful
