We are seeking a Project Manager to lead and grow our Distribution Modernization practice in the South-Central Region. Based in Houston, this role will manage complex distribution engineering projects for utility clients—from early planning through construction. You’ll be responsible for project execution, budget, schedule, client management, and internal team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Manage electric distribution projects from concept through completion, including routing, permitting, engineering, construction support, and closeout

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and driving repeat business

Prepare technical and commercial proposals, support client presentations, and participate in contract negotiations

Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work

Oversee project financials, forecasting, invoicing, and change orders

Coordinate with engineering, procurement, right-of-way, and construction teams to ensure timely project delivery

Ensure projects comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards

Mentor and support junior engineers and staff within the Distribution group

Support hiring, training, and resource planning for project execution

Travel to project sites and client offices as needed (10–20%)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 7 years of experience in electric distribution engineering, including 3 years managing projects

Strong knowledge of NESC and other industry codes and standards

Experience producing and reviewing distribution design and construction documents

Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary project teams

Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills

Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, and reporting tools

Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred

PMP certification preferred

Prior consulting or utility experience preferred

Valid driver’s license required

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
