To support an active expansion on the fabrication floor, the company is concurrently hiring for two direct-hire seats: an independent Painting Department Lead to manage daily booth workflow and a Mid-Level Production Painter to support core finishing tasks. These roles replace erratic shift schedules and corporate red tape with a reliable, family-friendly 1st shift routine. What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Apply high-uniformity industrial primers and top-coats to large-scale custom machinery components inside clean, modern spray booths.
- Operate specialized pneumatic surface preparation equipment and sanders to ensure proper material adhesion and defect-free finishes.
- Verify component dimensions and masking layouts against technical blueprints using a standard physical tape measure down to exact fractions.
- Coordinate daily floor tasks and workflow assignments for the prep and booth crew (Department Lead role only), collaborating closely with assembly supervisors.
- Provide hands-on technical mentoring and cross-training (Department Lead role only) regarding coating mil-thicknesses, gun calibration, fluid line adjustment, and shop safety protocols.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- 2 years of solid industrial painting/finishing background with proven experience calibrating spray guns, mixing industrial coatings, and adjusting fluid regulators.
- Floor Leadership Depth (For Lead Track): 2 years of verifiable experience as a Paint Line Lead, Shop Foreman, or Production Supervisor in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong visual inspection skills with a proven history of correcting coating defects (sags, runs, dry spray) and the absolute ability to read tape measures to exact fractions instantly.
- Dependable professional longevity, showing a stable employment track record with multi-year tenures and dedication to past employers.
- Proximity to the plant, residing within a comfortable daily 45-minute commuting radius of the Richfield, WI facility.
