We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our Land Development team in either our Phoenix or Mesa office. This role offers the opportunity to lead project efforts, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the successful delivery of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering services to meet client goals and project objectives.
- Lead and support Engineers-in-Training (EITs), designers, and technical staff in the execution of engineering tasks, including planning, design, and problem resolution.
- Coordinate with design engineers to define project scope, complexity, scheduling, and resource needs.
- Assist in planning and scheduling work assignments to ensure efficient workload distribution and project delivery.
- Ensure high-quality engineering and design outputs that meet established standards, codes, ordinances, and project requirements.
- Review and maintain accuracy and completeness of engineering and drafting work, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to support staff development and team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while serving as a resource for both clients and team members.
- Supervise technical work of designers and technicians.
- Support personnel functions including performance reviews and employee development initiatives.
- Assist senior engineering leadership in achieving office goals and maintaining strong client relationships, including awareness of ongoing client projects and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- Minimum 6 years of civil engineering design experience, preferably in land development (residential and/or commercial) or transportation and drainage projects
- Strong technical competency in civil engineering design principles and practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective decision-making, budget awareness, and client relationship management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and support staff development
- Self-motivated, energetic, and collaborative professional
