Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be the face of our deli department, preparing delicious food items, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive shopping experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble a variety of deli foods including sandwiches, salads, and hot items following established recipes and food safety standards
• Assist customers with product selection, provide excellent service, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling surfaces and equipment
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card payments
• Restock deli displays with fresh products and ensure proper labeling and pricing are in place
• Follow food safety guidelines diligently to ensure quality and compliance with health regulations
• Support other store functions such as bussing tables or assisting in the café or grocery sections as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service is preferred; quick service or fast-food restaurant experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is desirable
• Strong skills in food handling, sanitation, and safety practices
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math proficiency
• Experience working in retail grocery stores or café environments is advantageous
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as required

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
