Job Title: External Operations Manager
Department: Route Supervision
Reports To: General Manager and/or Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Manage Breakroom Service employees to ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Interview, hire, and train Breakroom Service Representatives, Breakroom Attendants, and Operational Utility personnel.
- Perform location inspections and audits.
- Address account complaints and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner.
- Assist with account openings and closings.
- Schedule Operational Utility support weekly for route coverage (vacations, audits, training, remote warehouse checks, etc.).
- Assign Utility Support personnel to cover routes for call-outs.
- Cover routes as needed.
- Ensure quality, cleanliness, planogram compliance, and customer service standards.
- Review products and verify freshness dates.
- Follow and reinforce training schedules to ensure employees follow proper procedures and policies.
- Assist with machine and micro-market merchandising on an account-by-account basis.
- Help keep vehicles operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs with the Internal Operations Manager.
- Ensure all route trucks are kept clean (e.g., swept out weekly) and adhere to vehicle rules (e.g., no smoking).
- Monitor route performance and service standards; provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
- Maintain safe standards at all company and client locations and in company vehicles, in accordance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. College education is preferred. One to three years of management experience is required. Computer proficiency is required.
