JOB SUMMARY : Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) is the orchestration of people, processes, and technology to manage the company's critical data assets by using roles, responsibilities, policies, and procedures to ensure the data is accurate, consistent, secure, and aligns with overall company objectives. Work associated with this position includes ownership of the Master Data in the Merchandising solution software and a variety of procedures and tasks that ensures the accuracy and consistency of the data. This individual will have accountability and responsibility to help define and ultimately control and maintain data and support the business rules. They are also responsible for guiding the effort to execute the policies and procedures as established by the company’s EDG Committee. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Facilitate the gathering and input of all the master data needed to facilitate the business requirements of the Merchandising Department (i.e., set up and maintenance of all attributes of a new Vendor, Location, Item, Cost, Deals, etc. including ecommerce considerations). Ensure data accuracy and compliance with Merchandising solution software and business requirements. Work with multiple areas/departments of the company i.e., Merchandising/Marketing/ecommerce, IT Data Architecture/Warehouse, Accounting, etc. to ensure cross functional alignment with Data Governance guidelines, principles, and all necessary business requirements. Assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure master data integrity across the operation is consistent and meets stated business rules, as well as industry benchmarks/standards. Have an intimate knowledge of all data elements required to support the Merchandising software solution(s) and Merchandising business requirements. Maintain and ensure data integrity/accuracy for all data used to support the Merchandising software solution(s). In collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable. Remediate any systematic data integrity issues and work with the EDG Committee to develop and document systematic or procedural solutions to eliminate future data integrity issues, as well as support ongoing maintenance and data integrity. Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies. Key member of the EDG Committee as the SME and representation for the Merchandising department. Provides data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to all levels of associates in relation to Merchandising applications. Develops and implements strategies to translate business requirements to ensure the business needs are met, data conventions comply with Data Governance guidelines, data integrity standards, legacy system requirements, etc. Conducts continual routines to ensure data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNTIONS: Onboard new Vendors to process/ Vendor Portal. Maintain & resolve the data integrity around cost and deals. Maintain & update the Product Information Management (PIM) work flows as required to ensure compliance with business requirements and Data Governance guidelines. Owner of Master Data Management process using direct guidance from the EDG Committee. Communicate any issues or inconsistencies with Master data to EDG Committee and partner to resolve. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant industry and an understanding of Food Retail operations and terminology, preferred. Comfortable with analyzing significant and various types of data and a strong sense of data curiosity. Good personal computer and business solutions software skills, Symphony Retail AI exposure, preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to facilitate meetings, project tasks, dialog, etc. with all level of associates throughout the organization Exposure to business technologies (Power BI, T-SQL, Data Warehouse, Data Dictionaries, etc.), preferred. Exposure to Data Governance guidelines/principles (ISO 8000, etc.), preferred. Exposure to DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), or similar certifications from accredited data governance organizations, preferred. Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance. Experience with managing and prioritizing multiple workstreams and projects to meet deadlines as directed. Must be professional, organized, and dependable along with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Must possess the ability to conduct oneself in a confidential manner. Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal direct supervision. Ability to grow in analytical role to eventually become Team Lead of other associates is preferred. Must possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license. Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
