Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli and bakery items, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards
- Operate food preparation equipment safely and efficiently, including slicing machines, ovens, and mixers
- Assist customers with product selection, answer questions about ingredients, and provide excellent service with a positive attitude
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli and bakery areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle heavy lifting of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to support daily production needs
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure freshness, safety, and hygiene at all times
- Support meal preparation and food production tasks for catering orders or in-store displays as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant work, or culinary environments; bakery or catering experience is highly valued
- Strong knife skills with the ability to perform slicing techniques accurately and safely
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing inventory levels
- Familiarity with food preparation equipment operation such as slicers, ovens, mixers, and refrigeration units
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective communication abilities
- Prior experience in food industry roles that involve cooking, food handling, or sensory evaluation is preferred
