Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet, train, and supervise volunteers during shifts
- Prepare the Volunteer Center for scheduled projects and clean up after shifts
- Properly label, track, and document product flowing through the Volunteer Center in accordance with operations and food safety guidelines
- Maintain a food-safe environment in accordance with American Institute of Baking International (AIB) standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse volunteer populations
- Strong group facilitation skills with the ability to motivate and coach volunteers
- Must be a good team player and enjoy working in a team environment
- Ability or willingness to learn how to operate warehouse equipment and inventory processes
- Understanding of or ability to learn food safety, AIB requirements, and warehouse operating standards
- Commitment to the Food Bank’s mission and core values
- High energy, positive attitude, and a genuine passion for working with volunteers
- Mission-driven, service-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Organized, adaptable, and skilled at building team culture
- Confident leading groups and providing clear, engaging instruction
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active warehouse environment
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during volunteer shifts
