The Controls Engineer will design and program control systems for small to large projects.

new features and versions, including AI.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Design and develop the deployment of control systems for automated machinery, including advanced conveying and assembly systems.
- Design, program, and debug structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable PLC code for manufacturing applications.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure successful outcomes, providing support during all phases, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in equipment conceptual development, balancing product specifications, process requirements, cost, and lead-time limits.
- Stay current with and apply relevant industrial machinery standards.
- Ensure all designs and implementations meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Work with project teams in optimizing automation systems to maximize OEE performance.
- Participate in startup and debug efforts to successfully deploy automated systems into production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including project plans, system designs, and functional specifications.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, ensuring technical details are clearly conveyed and understood.
- Generate technical reports and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
- Good team and collaboration skills.
- Experience designing and programming PLCs, especially Rockwell.
- Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk products.
- Ability to do electrical designs and design control systems.
- Some experience with processes such as CIP and other food manufacturing processes.
- Travel will be required to project sites for client meetings and during project commissioning. Travel is expected to be 30–40%. Everything possible will be tested in our facility to minimize travel.
