POSITION: MAINTENANCE I, FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
LOCATION: MAINTENANCE/FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT
SALARY: RANGE $21.16 TO $25.62 PER HOUR W/ FULL BENEFITS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in commercial/industrial Food Service equipment including refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, heating, control circuit, installation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Must possess a Journeyman or Master Certification
- Must have a knowledge of building construction methods, materials, equipment, and be able to operate all hand and power tools required in the construction and/or repairs of structures
- Must have experience in commercial electrical systems up to 480 volts
- Must have experience in refrigerant recovery - Certification or possession of knowledge to become universally certified is highly desirable
- Must be able to complete minor plumbing repairs including, but not limited to, repair/replacement of minor leaks in water valves and all types of piping
- Must have knowledge of repair of pressurized steam cooking equipment and preventive maintenance associated with all types of commercial cooking equipment
- Must possess a Maryland automotive driver’s license
- Must possess all necessary hand tools for assigned work
- Must be able to pass a physical as per MOSHA Regulations 20 CFR 1910.13 – Respiratory Protection
- Must be able to read, write, add, and subtract in whole numbers, and calculate in fractions
- Must have a mechanical aptitude
- Regular on-time attendance
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to work closely with Manager, Food and Nutrition Office and Head custodian do determine the best course of action in order to complete repairs satisfactorily and in a timely and efficient manner
- Interprets and works from blueprints and specifications
- Plan, inspect, and do repair work on various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems associated with the Food Service Department both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Complete specific assignments requiring a knowledge of, and skills in the areas listed above
- Develop and maintain a schedule for completing repairs and routine preventive maintenance on Food Preparation, storage equipment, and refrigeration equipment.
- Interprets oral and written instructions
- Calculates material and tools needed for specific jobs
- Performs other necessary duties as assigned
- May perform any or all the duties of lower grade maintenance employees as assigned.
