The Theater Assistant provides essential support to the Theater Teacher and students, facilitating the production of high-quality performances and smooth day-to-day operations in the theater classroom. This role involves assisting with rehearsals, managing props and costumes, organizing the stage and equipment, and supporting students in various aspects of theater arts. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about theater, organized, and able to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of students and staff. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
•
High School Diploma or equivalency.
•
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, in Performing Arts, Theater Arts or related field.
•
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Performing Arts, Theater Arts or related field. (preferred)
EXPERIENCE
•
Five (5) year of experience teaching theater to students in elementary, middle, or high school settings andthe ability to implement California Arts Standards for Theater.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
•First Aid and CPR Certificate
•Proof of required education certificates
•Valid California Driver’s License or ID
