The Macon County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and energetic candidate to fill the position of Circulation Services Supervisor. Macon County Public Library is a member of Fontana Regional Library, a public library system with four member libraries providing service in Macon and Swain counties. The ideal candidate for the Circulation Supervisor will be a team player who can provide library services to meet the needs of the public. QUALIFICATIONS required for the Circulation Services Supervisor include an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three years’ library experience and two years’ customer service experience are required. At least one year’s supervisory experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should have a commitment to quality customer service with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong leadership and coaching skills are a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES for the Circulation Services Supervisor include supervising and training circulation services staff, overseeing and participating in daily operations at the Circulation Desk, assisting patrons in the use of library services, facilities, and equipment, and interpreting library policies for patrons. The Circulation Supervisor works cooperatively with staff throughout Fontana Regional Library to plan, implement, and evaluate long and short-term goals and objectives.
The Circulation Services Supervisor is a full-time position of 40 hours per week with weekend work required. The salary range is $35,000 to $37,500 annually accompanied by a generous benefits package. The position is available August 21, 2026.
