Position Summary
The Press Operator - Stamp position requires the operation and/or set-up of manufacturing equipment with minimal direction or supervision. The incumbent will possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Follow all safety rules.
- Maintain clean, orderly work area
- Set-up and operate equipment as required.
- Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Perform the duties required for any necessary documentation.
- When necessary, move material by operating a forklift or using non-motorized devices.
- Perform minor machine maintenance as required.
- Assist other operators as needed.
- Suggest process improvement ideas.
- All other duties as assigned by the Lead/Supervisor.
Required:
- Ability to use all gauges and gauging techniques required.
- Thorough understanding of SPC.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Knowledge in ISO/QS requirements.
- Ability to operate equipment and perform machine set-ups.
- Ability to complete the Training Matrix for Press Operators.
- Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards.
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
- Use math skills for blueprint reading, gauging and SPC.
- Possess the ability to assist lesser-skilled employees.
- Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine requirements to perform basic and repetitive work assignments.
- Provide written communication as needed.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.
- HS Diploma, GED or relevant experience.
- Fluent in English (both strong verbal and written communication skills).
- Minimum two years of experience in direct or related field, fastener experience a plus.
- Previous problem solving and troubleshooting skills/experience.
- Formal mechanical or technical training.
- Forklift operation/material-handling/overhead crane experience.
- Experience operating multiple-types of manufacturing equipment.
- Micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, wrenches and other general tools and equipment.
