This role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Fonner Park. This position supports the cleanliness and overall appearance of high-traffic areas throughout the racetrack facility, including grandstands, restrooms, concourses, event spaces, and outdoor grounds.

This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, stadium-style environment, especially during and after events. Duties include janitorial work, floor care, trash removal, and general labor, along with occasional use of heavy equipment, and some outdoor maintenance. Safety is a top priority, and all tasks must be performed following proper procedures to ensure a safe experience for guests and staff.

Position Details:

• Seasonal, part-time position (through the first week of May or maybe longer)

• Limited spots available — don’t wait!
• Typical hours: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Wednesday, Weekends Mandatory.
  (hours may vary based on park events and needs)
• This is a physically demanding position — must be comfortable with lifting, standing, walking long distances, and staying active throughout your shift

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and machinery
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols
• Ability to perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in stadium, event venue, or large facility cleaning
• Knowledge of floor care (buffing, stripping, waxing)
• Experience with landscaping, trimming, or outdoor maintenance
• Basic skills in minor repairs
• Familiarity with eco-friendly cleaning practices

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain grandstands, restrooms, concourses, and common areas before, during, and after events
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
• Handle high-volume trash and recycling removal during events
• Perform floor care including buffing, stripping, and waxing as needed
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving equipment and supplies
• Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, grounds, and landscaping
• Perform minor repairs, and upkeep of facilities
• Follow all safety procedures to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment
• Respond quickly to spills, messes, and guest needs during events
