Position Summary
The Job Site Supervisor oversees daily field operations on active construction sites. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with specifications and quality standards. The Supervisor manages field crews, coordinates subcontractors and suppliers, and serves as the main on-site point of contact for project managers and inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily field activities including earthwork, utilities, paving, and site grading.
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operations to ensure safety, productivity, and quality.
- Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper execution of work.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and site reports, including manpower, equipment, and materials used.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding scheduling, materials, and project progress.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance standards on-site.
- Identify potential issues or delays early and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Verify quantities, assist with field measurements, and support billing documentation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction or sitework supervision.
- Strong working knowledge of grading, drainage, water/sewer utilities, and concrete work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding of site safety, erosion control, and quality control practices.
- Proficient in basic reporting and documentation (daily reports, photos, timesheets).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GPS and machine control systems.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience working on municipal or DOT projects.
